About Mykonos
Life on Mykonos centres on its main town, Chora. The town’s picturesque fishing port is backdropped by a labyrinthine maze of cobbled alleyways and charming chalk-white windmills. Add some authentic Greek cuisine and a cool carafe of Retsina into the mix, and you’ll have a pretty good sense of just how Mykonos rolls.
Of course, what really draws people here are the azure waters of the Aegean. Get out on the ocean with a scenic and sunny boat trip to Delos. Situated just west of Mykonos, Delos houses some of the most impressive ancient ruins in Greece. In this UNESCO World Heritage Site you can lose yourself among ancient Greek temples, discover exquisitely conserved mosaics and soak up the atmosphere of the most extraordinary amphitheatre in all of Greece.
Due largely to the island’s size, all of our luxury villas in Mykonos are perfectly located close to fabulous white-sand beaches, excellent restaurants and bustling nightlife. The island attracts no shortage of celebrity jet setters, yet our hand-picked selection of elegant villas offer plenty of respite from the cosmopolitan excitement.

Tipping
Like most European countries, tipping in restaurants is common, with a recommended 10% on a discretionary basis according to service. Check that a service charge has not been added to your bill before deciding whether to tip. Taxi drivers do not usually expect a tip but it is common practice and considered polite to round up taxi fares.
Money Matters
Travellers cheques can easily be converted into Euros; some larger stores will take them as payment. Smaller denominations are preferred. Major credit cards are widely accepted (though American Express less so) and ATM access is widespread.
