During this two-hour walking tour, take in the highlights of Rovinj, the architectural jewel of the Istrian Peninsula, which is surrounded by an archipelago of 19 tiny islands. Governed by the Republic of Venice between the 13th and 18th centuries, the town grew on an island just off shore and was subsequently connected to the mainland in the 18th century. Nowadays, its narrow, limestone alleyways form an intricate pedestrian-only zone, filled with quirky art galleries, restaurants, and bars. All alleys lead to the impressive hilltop cathedral of St Euphemia. Next to the cathedral is a bell tower that provides an astonishing 360-degree view of the city and the islands around it. Spend time strolling around the town’s colourful streets, mix with the crowd at the open-air fruit and fish market, or take a seat at one of the numerous cafés and have an Italian-style cappuccino.
Enjoy a guided walk of colourful Rovinj
