About Chateau des Vignes
Located among its own vines in one of the world’s most notable wine regions, Chateau des Vignes is a beautifully renovated 19th-century chateau. Set in 40 acres of woodland, the estate features its own vineyard, a luxurious swimming pool and a private tennis court. Enjoy al fresco dining on the covered terrace, or for fine dining, request the services of the personal chef and dine in the gracious dining room.
Inside the Chateau, the living spaces and bedroom suites – featuring hand-printed wallpapers and rare fabric prints – all centre around the magnificent spiral staircase. Each suite boasts beautiful countryside views through oversized windows, and vintage free-standing bathtubs complete the enveloping sense of indulgence – two suites even have their own private sauna.
Situated only 25 minutes from both the culture of Bordeaux and the history of medieval hilltop town Saint-Émilion, Chateau des Vignes is ideally located to provide either ultimate relaxation or a perfect base from which to explore this renowned wine producing region. The property even produces its own three unique wine-labels, which can be enjoyed, purchased, and shipped home by guests.
Five kilometres away is medieval Créon, with a restaurant and boulangerie as well as a Carrefour supermarket on the outskirts. Visit on a Wednesday morning to experience its atmospheric Farmer’s market, which takes place in the 14th-century arcaded square. Just beyond the town is the historic Abbaye de La Sauve-Majeure, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Arcachon Bay – famous for its beaches and oysters – is just over an hour away, or for a spot of water sports, head to the beaches at Le Porge.
