About Catania & Taormina
It’s impossible to avoid the vibrant energy sweeping through the beautiful port city of Catania. The city’s Baroque piazzas are rich with mosaics and cafe culture, while its huge choice of bars and restaurants offer you plenty of choice when the sun goes down.
Catania is located in the foothills of the domineering presence of Mount Etna. This active volcano offers a sublime backdrop to a fun-packed city. If you’re feeling brave, there are even trails leading up to Etna’s summit. It’s more than a bit of a steep climb, but the views afforded across the shimmering Mediterranean will repay your efforts. If you’re feeling a little less energetic, a sturdy 4x4 vehicle can get you there instead.
Just an hour away, Taormina is set on a hilltop. Steep cliffs here drop suddenly to form spectacular sea coves and exquisite white-sand beaches lapped by turquoise waters. The town’s many pretty medieval churches and impressive ancient amphitheatre make exploring on foot a delight. Once again Mount Etna, the ever-present sentinel of the island, makes its presence felt in the background.
Our luxury villas in Catania and Taormina are perfectly located to offer the best of this large island. From the seclusion and tranquillity of Taormina’s ancient architecture and bucolic landscape, to the exhilaration and excitement of Catania’s fish markets, you’ll have authentic Sicilian culture right at your fingertips.

Tipping
You are not expected to tip on top of restaurant service charges, though leaving a small amount is common practice. If there is no service charge, you might consider leaving 10%/15%, but it is not obligatory. In bars any small change is left as a tip. Tipping taxi drivers is also not mandatory but suggested.
