About Il Palagio
The sheer magnificence of Il Palagio lies in its epic proportions, stately grandeur and unique blend of eastern mysticism with Tuscan tradition.
This nine bedroom 16th-century villa demands a special occasion, even if you have to invent one as an excuse to stay here. Owned by rock icon Sting, it features manicured gardens, rustic stables, a deliciously elongated pool, a tennis court among the trees, olive groves, organic vineyards... and we’ll stop there. You get the picture!
Crowning a long steep drive, the villa overlooks the Tuscan hills. It sits on fertile land indeed: the neighbouring medieval town of Figline Valdarno is called the barn of Florence. The 350-hectare estate produces abundant grains, wine, oil, apricots and cherries. But there’s also lots of inviting forests and beautiful lakes to explore.
At your service is a staff of cooks, maids, gardeners and concierges. There’s exquisite accommodation here for 29, but it can host as many as 400 guests. Il Palagio offers a wealth of locations to celebrate in, such as by the pool overlooking the undulating hills, at a grand table in the welcoming wine cellar or on the terrace for refined al fresco dining.
Its owner’s stamp is there in the serene Buddha that greets you, the spacious yoga hall that awaits you and, not least, in the recording studio that tempts you to make a last-ditch push for rock god status! For all its grandeur and stately beauty, Il Palagio feels surprisingly homely and incredibly warm.
Paradise has never felt so easy!
