About Casa Matteucci
This recently restored Tuscan farmhouse is surrounded by lush greenery. Surrounded by the wide open spaces of a vast estate that’s dotted with terraced olive groves, it overlooks a large picturesque pond complete with an island accessible by a single bridge.
Casa Matteucci was once home to Felice Matteucci, whose name the villa still proudly honours. In 1854 he invented the first stroke engine, a prototype to the modern-day motor car, in his on-site workshop.
Steeped in history today’s luxury villa offers a delightful combination of old and new. Traditional features such as flagstone flooring and high arched ceilings have been retained, but all the comforts a discerning guest now requires have been added. You’ll find the spacious and well-appointed salon, elegant dining room and fully equipped Tuscan kitchen. The en suite double bedrooms are all air-conditioned and individually decorated to highlight their unique character.
Outside the expansive grounds encompass a beautiful lawned area. A large private swimming pool, encircled by sunloungers, sits alongside a lovely terraced dining area. Your al fresco meals and serene sundowners will have the backdrop of the placid lake waters, the ancient olive trees and the majestic mountains on the horizon.
