About La Limonaia
On a beautiful Tuscan estate, two farmhouses, Limonaia Grande and Limonaia Piccola, face each other across an orchard of peaches, plums, figs and vines. Surrounding them are rolling hills, olive groves, and majestic clusters of cypress trees and sturdy oaks. The air is scented with gentle hints of lavender and, as the villas’ names suggest, the refreshing scent of lemons.
This pair of charming, converted farmhouses with beautiful gardens are the ideal choice for a Tuscany escape. They’re perfectly located as a base for exploring the wonders of Tuscany: its wines, foods, landscapes, history and culture.
La Limonaia’s flexible accommodation options offer five twins and three doubles, many with en suites. Children are very well catered for. The pool is completely fenced, the fountains protected by a grid. There’s also a playground, in what wa formerly a wine cellar, a games room offering table tennis and plenty of toys, books and entertainment choices.
The enchanting town of Lucca is just a short drive away, and Florence and Pisa easy striking distance.
Originally used for milling flour and making wine, these farmhouses have been restored to a very high standard. Earthy colours, terracotta tiles and original wooden beams evoke the romance and heritage of the area. And that's exactlty what a Tuscan villa should do.
(La Limonaia is on the same estate as Villa Boccella and La Madonnina and the three properties can be rented together for larger parties)
