About Il Convento di Siena
Siena is a series of medieval masterpieces contained in a vast open air museum. But many exhibits sadly become forgotten by its official curators. Il Convento di Siena was one of these architectural triumphs that languished. Thankfully it is no longer a dead piece of history. Now it is a supremely elegant villa.
Il Convento di Siena dates back to the 14th-century when it was used for producing grain, wine and oil. It became a monastery before becoming abandoned. Today it has been reimagined as a fully restored villa and luxury retreat. Just a stone's throw from Siena, Il Convento is set in a private park surrounded by forests, fields, lawns and flowers.
The villa is equipped with a spacious 15x7m private swimming pool, tennis court, football field, bocce court, gym, wine cellar and sauna. It accommodates up to 18 guests and, despite its monastic past, it’s intensely social by design. The living areas and outdoor spaces are perfect for getting together and there are various indoor or outdoor areas to enjoy a Tuscan feast.
Seven bedrooms are on the main villa’s first floor, while the dependence holds a further two. Dotted throughout the villa you'll find the owner's private art collection, including important and unique paintings of contemporary artists.
Il Convento is just a short drive to Siena, one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany. But you’ll be staying in one of the most wonderful villas in the whole of Italy. It’s going to be hard to pull yourself away.
