About La Luna Rey
La Luna Rey is a finca-style villa set on ancient Mallorcan farmland. The five-bedroom property was built as a family holiday home, and the interiors have been designed to bring the best of the Balearic outdoors in: jute rugs and rustic textures that echo Mallorca’s native fan palms; a deep squishy sofa the colour of ripe oranges in the garden; gleaming Piedra de Binissalem marble floors quarried Mallorca’s wine region; distressed wood, breezy textiles and shades of white that mirror the island’s sun-bleached limestone coast.
Three crisp, uncluttered bedrooms on the ground floor feature large French windows that open onto either the pool or the garden; a fourth on the first floor has its own private sun terrace. There’s a separate light-filled casita for couples, kids or staff and plenty of space in the garden, where you can laze in a hammock or follow the scent of citrus to find oranges, lemons, peaches, avocado and papaya growing side by side with lavender, rosemary, oleander and lantana. The outdoor dining space – complete with traditional wood-fired barbecue – offers panoramic views of the Cap de Formentor, the peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana, and the green of Pollença’s golf course.
The Balearics are big on wellness, and there’s an air-conditioned gym studio with bike facilities and a weight rack, a private saltwater pool with daybeds and a palm-shaded jacuzzi, whilst a 20l water dispenser will keep you hydrated and reduce single use plastic waste.
The villa is located on the border of Alcúdia’s wetlands, a birdlife preservation area, and offers total privacy and peace. Your only neighbours will be the local winged residents: flamingos, falcons, cranes, purple herons and ospreys. A short 15-minute drive delivers you directly to the beautiful beaches of the north coast: Pollença is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can take a scenic waterfront stroll along the pretty town’s ‘pine walk’, and Alcúdia offers sunbeds on the white sand and swims in sparkling Mediterranean water.
