You’ll feel like the star of a romantic novel at Temple Guiting Manor. Set amid quintessential English countryside, this luxury Cotswolds holiday home comes with a host of medieval features, including exposed beams, leaded windows and secret staircases. Despite all this, the house is equipped with modern amenities. There’s a contemporary kitchen, plus an indoor hot tub and a state-of-the-art cinema room in former dovecotes. Outside, you’ll find superb landscaped gardens, dining and barbecue facilities, and a shared tennis court.

Temple Guiting Manor sleeps up to 12 people in three en-suite double bedrooms and a couple of loft rooms. A hidden staircase extends from the first floor down to the ground floor sitting room, which was discovered when the house was renovated. Living space includes two dining rooms, two living rooms, and a snug which functions as a cosy TV room. Outside, a lawn area overlooks a small lake and offers far-reaching views.

Local excursions include a trip to Shakespeare’s birthplace at Stratford-upon-Avon. Alternatively, a rented classic car or a hot air balloon ride offers a chance to truly capture the beauty of the area. Classic Cotswolds villages like Painswick, Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford provide plenty of opportunity for shopping. After a day on the road, the serenity of your luxurious Cotswolds holiday home awaits.

Kitchen: Modern fully functional equipped with Miele appliances, induction hob, two combined microwave-ovens, a wine cooler, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, filtered water tap, etc.
Dining Room/ Hallway: Dining area adjacent to the kitchen sits up to 12 around a dark wood dining table with elegant carved chairs.
Dining Room Two: Atmospheric room with medieval flags adorning the oak beamed elegant, arched ceiling. The dining table seats up to 30, and doubles up as a full-sized snooker table, creating a stunning games room.
Living Rooms: There are three areas with their own distinctive features and characteristics. An iPad activated music system is available across the downstairs rooms.
Snug: Cosy TV room equipped with LCD TV, Sky and DVD player, board games.
Main Drawing Room: Bright, grand room with a large open fireplace and walls adorned with elegant paintings and a French chandelier, comfortable sofas and wooden floors.
2nd Living Room: Cosy with wood-burning stove, inglenook fireplace and elegant beamed ceiling. Leads up to the first floor via a “hidden staircase”, dating back to the original parts of the building.

First Floor:

Master bedroom: stylish and warm, with 180cm bed (configurable as twin) and TV. En-suite bathroom with bath.
Four-Poster Bedroom: with 1.50m bed and decorative fireplace, lovely views over the estate and en-suite bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. (NB: the bed cannot be split into two twins).
Double bedroom: with 180cm bed (configurable as twin), large luxury en-suite bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.

Second Floor (Attic):

Please note that this floor has a shared bathroom with roll-top bath and shower.
Double bedroom: with 180cm bed (configurable as twin).
Family suite: one bedroom with 180cm bed (configurable as twin) and two built-in full-size single beds perfect for children going through to the main bedroom.
All attic rooms are under the wooden beams and although characterful they create a height restriction in some areas.

Outside:

The gardens are split into two areas. Immediately behind the house is an elegant lawn with a seating area and barbecue, overlooking a small lake, offering beautiful views.
Adjacent to the house are formal ornate water gardens combining topiary with roses, wild flowers and lavender.
Various outdoor dining areas with tables seating 10 guests. Weber charcoal BBQ.
A full-sized Astroturf tennis court, shared with other guests if the estate is not booked as a whole (at least four rackets and balls available).
A hidden hot tub in one of the dovecotes.
A shared woodland playground.
A secret cinema room for up to 12 guests in a separate dovecote, with underfloor heating. State-of-the-art movie system with surround sound, Blu-Ray, large collection of latest and classic films, Sky TV, Xbox, Fibre optic Wi-Fi internet and connection to laptops.
Private Lake with rowing boats, SUP boards, jetty with steps for natural swimming.

KINDLY NOTE:

Please kindly note that due to the great age of the property, some of the door frames are quite low so extra care must be taken. This also applies to the attic level where there are low beamed ceilings and some unlevel flooring.
One of the great characteristics of the estate are the numerous water features. Young visitors require constant supervision in those areas.

Our villas are normally rented on a Saturday to Saturday basis throughout the year; however, this can vary.

Please enquire with us to find out more about rental periods for specific properties. If you're interested in shorter stays or alternative arrival days outside the high season, let us know and we'll try to match your requirements.

Please note that the standard check-in time at our properties is between 4pm and 7pm, and that we ask guests to vacate the property by 10am on departure day, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
