The iconic Lake Como still delivers more than it promises

Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Lake Como is an alpine haven in northern Italy. Colourful villages that are serenely reflected in its glassy waters continue to offer the ideal escape from big city life. In a unique 16th-century palazzo right on the shores of Lake Como, or an understated villa set in parkland, the lake’s air of mystery and timeless elegance are brought to life. Our range of luxury villas in Lake Como complement the beauty and resplendence of the natural splendour.

About Lake Como

Famous for its olive groves, stunning views and historic charm, Lake Como is one of Italy’s most popular holiday destinations. Surrounding the lake, an eclectic array of pretty little towns emerges from the mountainside, fringed with azalea and rhododendron.

The unrivalled pearl of Lake Como is the village of Bellagio. Divided into 22 hamlets, each mirrors a unique aspect of the lake. The village is abundant with traditional buildings and ancient stone lanes, which beg to be explored on foot. Its quaint cobbled stairways overflow with shops, showcasing the finest Italian products and produce. Grab some local delicacies to enjoy on the dining terrace of your luxury villa in Lake Como.

Across the water to the south east of Bellagio lies the medieval village of Argegno. From here, we highly recommend a cable car ride to the mountain village of Pigra, which provides some of the best panoramic vistas of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Argegno is just across the glistening water from Comacina Island, Lake Como’s only island. The scenery here is striking at all times of year: its trees look beautiful both in the mists of spring and the hazy heat of high summer.

Lake Como has inspired famous writers and composers from Stendhal and Twain to Hemingway and Liszt. Allow it to seduce you too, as you admire the blue waters and relax in deluxe villas cushioned by lakeside woodland.
